Jaipur, Feb 9 (UNI) Even as an uneasy calm prevailed in violence hit Rishabdev temple township today, after two days of arson, angry tribals today torched a shop and indulged in stone pelting in Dolana village, the place to which the deceased Ramlal belongs.

Rishabdev in Udaipur district has been witnessing unprecedented violence in the last two days over a Supreme Court order handing over the management of the Rishabdev temple to the Jain community.

In the violence and police firing, one person was killed and five tribals sustained serious injuries. Over three dozen police personnel, including Udaipur SP Dinesh MN, have been injured in the attack by the tribals.

Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria said irate villagers of Dolana set ablaze a shop and pelted stones on the houses of the Jain community. He said the villagers forcibly closed schools.

Mr Kataria said the body of Ramlal was handed over to the relatives after a post-mortem.

The government had earlier announced the setting up of a cabinet sub-committee to study the ownership issue of the temple in light of the court order.
