ABB India wins Rs 311 crores power and automation order
Kolkata, Feb 9(UNI) ABB India has been awarded orders worth Rs 311 crores to provide power, automation products and systems for their cement capacity expansions for Grasim Industries Cement division and Ultratech Cement, a part of the Adma Bala Group.
ABB India would provide turnkey electrical and automation systems, including the installation of switchgear and supply of a range of switchgear motors, low and medium voltage drives power and distribution transformers, capacitors as well as intelligent LV parcels.
The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2007.
ABB solutions would serve two cement plants of 2.8 MIPA capacity each being set up by Grasim. This would include a green field expansion at Kotputh, a brown field expansion at Shambhupura and two green field grinding units of 13 MIPA each at Purupat and Dadm.
The technology would also facilitate the operanus of a 2.5 MTPA brown field plant expansion at Litratech Tadipam cement works as well as a 13 MPTA capacity plant at Ginegura and three capacity power plants each of 2X25 MW capacity being established at Korpudi, Sambhupura and Tadipam.
ABB's sources said they would bring significant improvements in energy efficiency and productivity enhancing compemuveness as the Indian cement industry rises to meet global standards, ABB India Managing Director Ravi Uppal said.
