Sun Micro launches sales operation in Ahmedabad
Ahmedabad, Feb 08 (UNI) Sun Microsystems India (SMI) today launched its sales operations in the Ahmedabad city so as to take care of the burgeoning IT demands in the city as well as in Gujarat state.
Talking to reporters here, Rajesh Rege, Sales Director (SMI) said that after having established and consolidated its presence in the large metros, the Company is now gearing up for the next phase in its market growth and expansion plans throughout the country.
Mr Rege said this expansion is part of our plans to expand our presence in the country, for which we have identified 18 Tier II/III cities that we intend to enter with the help of our partner network by the end of the current fiscal year. This is the 5th office of Sun after Mumbai, Bangalore, New Delhi and Kolkata.
He said,''Gujarat has been a preferred investment destination for several sunrise industries, including IT and Information Technology Enabled Services (ITES). Gujarat also has a strong presence of traditional industry like pharma, manufacturing and textiles that makes this market a very attractive one for us. The entire porfolio of Sun solutions will now be available to the vibrant Gujarat market through Sun and its partners.'' While, speaking on Sun's value proposition for customers in Ahmedabad, Mr Venkat Krishnan, Regional Director (West), ''Over the last one year, we have gained a lot of momentum in our revenue growth and have made a great strides in our product portfolio. The beginning of fiscal year 2007 has already seen a slew of products from our systems and storage stable. Our value proposition remains the same.'' ''We continue to offer our customers more choices to improve efficiency and lower costs in the data-centre. No other server company offers the depth and breadth of Sun's server portfolio, which consists of high-performance UltraSPARC processors-based server, x64 systems and the breakthrough Sun Fire modular storage array,'' he added.
