SAARC Editors to meet here on February 9-10

New Delhi, Feb 8 (UNI) Editors from SAARC countries will meet here for a two-day conference from February 9 to deliberate on developing media values and promoting understanding among the poeple of the region through the media.

The Conference, the first-ever such meeting of SAARC media Editors, will be inaugurated on Februaty 9 by Foreign Secretary Shivshankar Menon while External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee will deliver the concluding address on February 10.

Officials said the conference would stress on the role of media in confronting modern challenges including threat of the internet, issues related to security, trade and economy, democracy and media and foreign policy.
