Rural service would be made mandatory for Doctors in Karnataka
Bangalore, Feb 8 (UNI) Karnataka will soon bring in a law to make rural service mandatory for Doctors, Minister for Health R Ashok informed the Legislative Assembly today.
Replying to a query raised by Mr Prabhakar Bangera (BJP), he said that in this regard several rounds of talks were held with the Medical Education Ministry and other departments concerned.
He said that it was planned to ask the Doctors to serve atleast for three years in rural areas compulsorily. This would help in overcoming shortage of Doctors faced at present in the rural areas.
