Police Sub-Inspector 'challaned' for accepting bribe in Kashmir
Srinagar, Feb 8 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir Vigilance Organisation (VO) today produced a 'challan' in the court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption, Kashmir, against a police official for demanding and accepting a bribe.
A VO spokesman said the 'challan' was produced after an FIR was filed against Mohammad Abdullah Lone (SI), posted in Rajbagh police station.
According to the 'challan', Lone had demanded a bribe of Rs 3000 from one Tehsin Nabi Bhat for issuing non-involvement certificate in favour of his sister-in-law.
The complainant lodged a complaint with the VO and a trap was laid in which the Sub-Inspector was caught red-handed.
