Ranchi, Feb 8 (UNI) The National Congress Party today expressed concern over the insurgency problem in Jharkhand and accused the erstwhile NDA government of not taking adequate measures to generate employment in the state.

The NCP made the observation at one-day state-level party workers meet here in presence of national general retary and Rajya Sabha MP Tariq Anwar, state Minister Kamlesh Singh, NCP Bihar unit president Aquib Haider, district representatives and a host of party workers.

Mr Anwar urged the party workers to be alert on development projects in the state and alleged that a vicious cycle of middlemen had been creating hurdle for development for the masses.

State Water Resources Minister Kamlesh Singh said former Chief Minister Arjun Munda (BJP) confined all industries to his constituncy --Saraikela-Kharsawan-- leading to frustration among unemployed in rest of the state.

Lack of development added fuel to insurgency problem mainly in sensitive districts like -Palamu, Chatra, Hazaribag, Koderma, to name a few, he said.

'' We are not against development project in Mr Munda's home town but attention should be given to all, '' Mr Singh added.

Mr Anwar, during his address, referred to the creation of Jharkhand six years ago and people's aspirations in this regard but expressed dismay over the fact that lack of political will resulted in non-performance by the subsequent governments, mostly NDA-ruled, and asked the workers to fan out to masses with the NCP's agenda of progress through peace.
