Manishankar Aiyer on a two-day visit to Tripura

Agartala, Feb 8 (UNI) Union Panchayat and Petroleum Minister Manishankar Aiyer will visit Tripura on February 11 to make a spot- study of the developmental schemes in state's panchayat areas.

Official sources told UNI here today that the Union Minister would first visit Udaipur in South District to hold a meeting with the District Parishad and BAC Members.

He would inaugurate a bamboo centre at Kwaifang in Santirbazar sub-division of the South district, they added.

On February 12, Mr Aiyer would attend the Gramsabha meetings at Jirania and Mohanpur, under Sadar sub-division, and also meet the West District Parishad and BAC members from North and Dhalai districts to ascertain the progress of various Centrally-funded schemes in the Panchayat areas of the state, sources added.

The sources further stated that before leaving he would also hold a meeting with Chief Minister Manik Sarkar.
