Manishankar Aiyer on a 2-day visit to Tripura

Agartala, Feb 08 (UNI) Union Panchayat and Petroleum Minister Manishankar Aiyer will visit Tripura on February 11 to make a spot study on the development schemes in state's panchayat areas.

Official sources told UNI here today that the Union Minister would first visit Udaipur in South District to hold a meeting with the District Parishad and BAC Members.

He would inaugurate a bamboo centre at Kwaifang in Santirbazar sub-division of the South district, they added.

On February 12, Mr Aiyer would attend the Gramsabha meetings at Jirania and Mohanpur, under Sadar sub-division, and also meet the West District Parishad and BAC members from North and Dhalai districts to ascertain the progress of various Centrally funded schemes in the Panchayat areas of the state, sources added.

The sources further stated that before leaving he would also hold a meeting with Chief Minister Manik Sarkar.
