Lakshadweep Administrator hold talks with CPT, CISF
Kochi, Feb 8 (UNI) The Administrator of the Union Territory of Lakshadweep held talks with Cochin Port Trust (CPT) and the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) to streamline and smoothen the passenger traffic from Lakshadweep in Kochi.
According to an official release here today, Administrator B V Selvaraj sought smoothening of the security measures and commissioning of modern and scientific security screening systems for the passengers.
As a long term measure, a dedicated berthing facility should be established for all Lakshadweep Administration vessels in CPT, Mr Selvaraj informed the officials.
He asked the officials to give top priority berth to vessels from the island as people depend on sea-transport for their needs.
Traffic Manager and Additional Traffic Manager of CPT, T Damodar Naik and Vipin R Menoth respectively and CISF Senior Commandant V P Prabhu and others participated in the meeting.
