ICICI Prudential Life Insurance poised for growth

Panaji, Feb 8: Leading private sector insurer, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance is poised to witness further growth even as it has grabbed 9 per cent of the 29 per cent total private market share valued at Rs 7,907.27 crore by last year end.

Interacting with media persons here today, Company Vice-President and head of sales (Western and Southern region) Mr Anup Rau said Prulife had earned new business with weighted permium of Rs 2,722 crore over the nine months ended December last, registering a 97 per cent growth over the corresponding period in the previous year.

The company had during the same period written over 1.1 million new policies even as its asset base stood at Rs.13,459 crores by December 31, 2006, considered the largest among private life insurers in the country.

''We are confident of retaining the current growth and making further jump in the coming fiscal with the company having 470 branch network with over 175,000 advisors and 18 bank partners,'' Mr Anup added.
