Haryana to introduce mobile ICUs

Chandigarh, Feb 8 (UNI) With a view to strengthening patient care in critical conditions, the Haryana government has decided to introduce mobile Intensive Care Units (ICU) in the state.

Haryana Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary (Health) Urvashi Gulati said the Health Department had already acquired six Emergency Critical Care Ambulances which would function like Intensive Care Units (ICU) on wheels.

She said two of these ambulances would function in Sirsa and one each at Rewari, Yamunanagar, Panchkula and Mewat.

These mobile ICUs would function through civil hospitals in these areas.

She said the ambulances were totally air conditioned with heating facility and equipped with intercom facility between the driver and attendant. These ambulances had an interior fabrication which is seamless, hygienic and easy to clean.

Also, these had a suction machine with oxygen gas pipe line system with two jumbo cylinders, portable defibrillator with recorder and monitor with ventilator, portable nebuliser, multi para patient monitor, digital syringe infusion pump with 24 hours battery back up and Emergency Resuscitation-cum-Intubation Kit, Ms Gulati said.
