Gourmet fest in Bangalore from Feb 23
Bangalore, Feb 8 (UNI) Versatile Malayalam actor Mohanlal today announced the launch of the three-day International Food Fiesta 2007 in the city from February 23 by participating in a lip smacking live food demonstration here.
Speaking on the occasion, the renowned actor said the food fest was a first of its kind B2B and B2C activity and would be a sizzling melting pot of food related brands, buyers, restaurants, industry experts, products supplier and consumers. The event was all about food, people, lifestyle and entertainment, he added.
He said various top class restaurants and hotels would be seen selling food across the counter in the food court area to satiate the taste buds of visitors of all age groups. The event would also display some of the innovative and unique food related brands prepared by celebrity chefs, including Rasfulla Chaat, Beer Stakes, Fried Fish in Beer Butter and Idli Samosa Sandwich.
Mohanlal, himself a good cook and a restaurateur, said his sea food restaurant, The Harbour Market, proved to be successful and he intended to expand the brand to other cities in the country.
On his plans to start such sea-food restaurants overseas, he said the company was focussing on increasing its footprint across major markets in India, which offered tremendous growth opportunity, before moving on to the international market.
