FDCI holds workshop on IPR
Mumbai, Feb 8 (UNI) The Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), country's apex fashion body, today furthered its commitment to fashion by holding a workshop on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) in the Indian fashion industry.
''In today's world of heightened IPR awareness and a growing emphasis on originality and creativity the old adage that 'imitation is the best form of flattery' does not apply anymore - at least in the fashion industry which is projected to be among the more profitable businesses in the future,'' FDCI Advisor Krishna Sahai said.
An interactive session was conducted with Krishna Sahai, FDCI Advisor, Shwetasree Majumder, Senior Associate and Ishani Sahiwal, Associate from Anand and Anand Advocates, members of FDCI and the media. These experts highlighted the importance of IPR in the fashion industry as the need of the hour.
The seminar is the first among such initiatives that the FDCI will undertake to educate and sensitise its key stakeholders on their duties and responsibilities on the subject of IPR.
