Eurocopter receives order for two EC120 choppers
Bangalore, Feb 8 (UNI) Eurocopter today signed a contract with APOORVA Aviation for selling two EC120 new generation training helicopters.
The contract was inked by Eurocopter's Sales Manager for India Ludovic Boistot and APOORVA Aviation Chairman Suresh Babu.
APOORVA intended to commence Ab Initio and Advanced Training for Indian helicopter pilots in the second half of 2007 to cope with a fast growing demand for highly-skilled pilots for the growing fleet of choppers in the country. Eurocopter was aware of the fast-growing market in India and strongly supported this innovative business initiative, the company said in a release here.
''By means of APOORVA's new training facility, using the best value-for-money training helicopter you can get in the market, we enable potential Indian customers to get their flight crews trained on highest standards and future helicopter pilots in India to be guaranteed the best possible vehicle for mission training. The EC120 offered latest technology in avionics, safety and handling, Mr Boistot said.
Engineered from a partnership between Eurocopter Group, ST Aerospace and CATIC in China, the EC120 B Colibri was a light and extremely versatile single-engine helicopter. It was perfectly adapted for both initial and recurrent pilot training due to its size, piloting capabilities, simple design and the large cabin visibility. Equipped with the most advanced technologies and crashworthy systems, instructors could perform training missions in optimal safety conditions. Providing an unbeatable mission package, this helicopter model was in use for training services and in various armed forces in the world.
