Elangovan to inaugurate Bharat Nirman campaign on Feb 10

Chennai, Feb 8 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Textiles E V K S Elangovan will inaugurate the 11th edition of the Bharat Nirman Public Information campaign at Chengam in Thiruvannamalai district on February 10.

The five-day campaign will focus on Bharat Nirman, National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS), National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNURM), Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan(SSA), Right to Information Act (RTI Act) and other pioneering welfare schemes of the UPA government, Press Information Bureau (PIB) officials said here today.

As part of the campaign, the PIB would organise an exhibition, in which various Central and state government departments, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), NGOs and Self Help Groups (SHGs) would showcase their products and services.

An intensive grass-root level information dissemination campaign would also be held at 30 villages in and around Chengam.

Union Minister of State for Railways R Velu, Union Minister of State for Law and Justice K Venkatapathy and other Tamil Nadu Ministers would also participate in the campaign, officials added.
