EC orders special summary revision of electoral rolls

Hyderabad, Feb 8 (UNI) The Election Commission of India has ordered special summary revision of electoral rolls with reference to January 1, 2007 as qualifying date in six assembly constituencies in Visakhapatnam and East Godavari districts.

The revision of electoral rolls was postponed due to elections to Visakhapatnam amd Rajahmundry municipal corporations, an official release said today.

The preparatory work would be on till February 16 and draft publication of rolls was scheduled for February 19.

The period of filing of claims and objections was from February 19 to March 20 and disposal of claims and objections would end by April 21. Final publication of electoral rolls was on May 25, the release added.
