New Delhi, Feb 8 (UNI) A local court here today directed police authorities in Mumbai to ''produce before it'' underworld don Abu Salem postively on February 27.

In her order Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Seema Maini directed Arthur Road (Mumbai) Jail Superintendent to ''positively produce before the court'' Abu Salem, who is wanted here on several criminal charges.

The CMM also asked for an explanation from the jail authorities as to why the 'don' was not produced before the court here today -- the designated date.

Yesterday the designated TADA court in Mumbai had stayed till February 23 the taking of extradited gangster to Delhi as he was found 'medically unfit' to undertake the long distance journey between Mumbai to Delhi.

TADA judge P D Kode stayed the order issued on February 2, which allowed the Delhi police to take the custody of Salem to interrogate him in the three pending extortion cases here.

Delhi Police had produced a production warrant issued by Tis Hazari court of Delhi, for taking custody of Salem to interrogate him, following which the TADA court in Mumbai had agreed to handover Salem to Delhi police.
