Cong Govt in UT has not implemented schemes: AIADMK leader
Puducherry, Feb 8 (UNI) AIADMK State secretary A Anbazhagan, MLA, today refuted PCC president P Shanmugham claim that the Congress government in the Union Territory was effectively implementing people welfare schemes.
On the contrary none of the 20 schemes announced in the last budget session of the Assembly were implemented, he said at a press conference here.
The agitation by the Plus-Two girl students in Puducherry yesterday, to make sure that they could attend their practical examinations in time due to the strike by the higher secondary school lecturers itself was an example to prove that the functioning of the government had paralysed.
With groupism in the Congress party and ego clash between the Lt Governor, Chief Minister and his cabinet collegues, Mr Shanmugham should hereafter stop criticising the opposition parties, the AIADMK leader said.
The provision for nominated legislators was to appoint capable person from different strata of society. However, the ruling Congress had made it an object by selling to 'please the allies,' he alleged and demanded that the posts be given to women.
Mr Anbazhagan also said both Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Governments were' cheated 'in the final award of the Cauvery Water Dispute Tribunal.
