Bhopal, Feb 8 (UNI) Accusing Madhya Pradesh's Bharatiya Janata Party regime of adopting an ''undemocratic'' stance, the Congress' state unit today submitted to Governor Balram Jakhar a memorandum demanding imposition of President's Rule in the state.

The delegation of cooperative movement leaders was led by state Congress supremo Subhash Yadav and alleged that the BJP was saffronising cooperative bodies.

''Democratically-elected cooperative bodies are being dissolved since 2003 when the BJP came to power. Large-scale irregularities are taking place in such polls,'' the memo alleged. It contained a list of districts where the ''irregularities'' took place.

''Several complaints were made to the officials concerned but political pressure prevented any action,'' Mr Yadav said.

Meanwhile, state Congress spokesman and former MLA P C Sharma said in a release that the BJP state working committee's political proposal was a bundle of lies and added that the development work for which the government was taking the credit was actually executed under central schemes.
