Cabinet for amendment of Mizoram University Act, 2000

New Delhi, Feb 8 (UNI) The Union Cabinet today gave the go-ahead for the introduction of the Mizoram University (Amendment) Bill, 2007 in Parliament appointing the Mizoram Governor as the Chief Rector of the University.

''This would facilitate association of Mizoram University with the Governor of Mizoram in his capacity as the Chief Rector of the University,'' Finance Minister P Chidambaram told newspersons here after the conclusion of the Cabinet meeting presided over by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
