Administration violated ethics, rules: Yogi Adityanath
Gorakhpur, Feb 8 (UNI) Local BJP MP and Gorakhpeeth successor Yogi Adityanath today alleged that the district administration mistreated him during the recent communal flare-up in blatant violation of all ethics and regulations.
Talking to UNI here, Yogi termed his arrested unconstitutional and violation of his priviledge.
''I will raise this issue in Parliament,'' he informed.
He claimed the curfew imposed in some areas of Gorakhpur was aimed as a cover-up by the district administration to hide its inefficiency and failure.
Yogi alleged that a police constable had committed a rape during the curfew, while another Hindu youth died in police custody.
''Business establishments of Hindu traders were looted in the presence of police,'' he charged.
Yogi, who was arrested on January 28 over disturbance of peace, was released on bail last evening.
A total of 55 persons, including MLA (City) Dr Radha Mohan Das Agarwal and former UP minister Shiv Pratap Shukla, had already been released.
The district court had overruled the judgement of the Additional District Magistrate, whereby he had ordered immediate arrest of 70 persons, including Yogi Adityanath for disturbing peace.
The district court termed Yogi's arrest as illegal.
Meanwhile, curfew was relaxed for nine hrs in four police stations here between 0900 hrs to 1800 hrs.
