5 pilgrims killed, 7 injured in road mishap
Kurukshetra, Feb 8 (UNI) Five pilgrims, including a woman and a child, were killed and seven seriously injured when the car in which they were travelling was hit by a truck on the National Highway No 1 near Shahabad in this district today.
The victims were going from Faridabad to Vaishnodevi when their multi-utility vehicle was hit from a the truck coming from behind near the Naugaza Peer.
Five of the pilgrims died on the spot while seven others seriously injured. The injured were referred to the PGI Chandigarh.
Police registered a case and started investigations.
Meanwhile, a youth lost his life due to lightning yesterday when he was working in the fileds in Diwana village in Pehowa sub division of the district.
