4-day Rankala Festival to get underway from Feb 4 at Kolhapur

Kolhapur, Feb 8 (UNI) National level cultural artistes will be performing at the Kolhapur municipal corporation's (KMC) 'Rankala' cultural festival , slated to commence here from February 15.

Talking reporters here today, Kolhapur mayor Mrs Sai Kharade and KMC commissioner Kunal Kumar said that prominent artistes like Indi-pop singer Phalguni Pathak, renowned gazal singer Pankaj Udhas, fusion music singer Aditee Bhagwat, classical sangeet artist Shubha Mudgal and internationally famed singers Rajan Sajan Mishra are expected to grace the event.

The Rankala festival is organised annually by the KMC since 2002 to attract tourists and encourage state cultural arts.

Maharashtra Cultural Affairs Minister Vijaysinh Mohite-Patil will inaugurate the festival which will be presided over by District Guardian Minister Harshwardhan Patil, they said and added that the KMC expects an expenditure of Rs 24 lakh to conduct this mega event.
