1039 Indians visited PoK last year
Jammu, Feb 8 (UNI) The government today informed Legislative Council as many as 1039 Indian citizen from Jammu and Kashmir visited Pakishtan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) to meet their relatives.
Minister for CAPD Taj Moin-ud-Din, in reply to a question, said 1039 Indian Nationals and 1219 POK inhabitants travelled to J&K and vice-versa through various routes.
The Minister further said permission for travel has been denied in 106 cases whose children had been found ex-filtrated to PoK for arms training in the terrorist training camps.
He said out of four PoK nationals who travelled from across were overstaying in J&K, one person was deported and three obtained stay orders from High Court.
Replying another question, the Minister said, ''army has acquired land and buildings for official use in state. In some cases procedural delay has been caused in providing compensation however, acquisition has been made under proper Act and rent has been fixed by the competent Assessing Authority.''
