SP, Cong fomenting ''Islamic terrorism'' in India: Katiyar

Varanasi, Feb 7 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today charged the Congress and Samajwadi Party (SP) with fomenting ''Islamic terrorism'' in the country.

''While the Congress has fomented Islamic terror in the country by repealing the anti-terrorism POTA under the pressure of Pakistan, the SP-led Uttar Pradesh government has did the same thing by repeatedly indulging in anti-Hindutwa acts like recently arresting Gorakhpur MP Yogi Adityanath,'' BJP national general secretary Vinay Katiyar alleged, interacting with mediapersons here.

''Owing to continued policy of the Muslim appeasement by the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government at the Centre and the Mulayam Singh Yadav government in UP, at least five district in the state, including Baharaich, Azamgarh, Mau, Saharanpur and Muzaffarnagar have flourishing camps for Islamic terrorists,'' he claimed.

''Even the security agencies have facts about the presence of at least 500 trained militants in Muzaffarnagar district of West UP,'' Mr Katityar alleged.

Mr Katiyar said the vortex of Islamic terrorism had reached 'civil war' proportions in various parts of the country, including UP and poliical parties like Congress and SP by pursuing politics of the Muslim appeasement were lending indirect support to Pakistan's dream of making India an ''Islamic state'' one day.

The BJP leader also claimed that even lumanaries like Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar in their writings had dealt at length about Islamic extremism. ''Dr Ambedkar termed the Islamists as a very dangerous community for India.'' Mr Katiyar also demanded that action be taken against Dr I S Gilada, a pioneering consultant in HIV/AIDS medicine for recently presenting a map of India which excluded Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Dr Gilada, considered to be the ''Indian machinegun against AIDS'', for raising an alarm against the disease in 1985, had recently at an international seminar in the Mahatama Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith (MGKV) university here, presented a map of India which did not include PoK.

When queried, the Mumbai based AIDS expert had justified his presentation stating that ''a land where the Pakistani currency is in circulation cannot be a part of India.'' UNI
