Rupee firms up slightly in morning trade
Mumbai, Feb 7: Indian Rupee traded slightly higher from the previous finish, between Rs.44.08-44.09 against per U S Dollar in an absolutely quiet trading at the Interbank Foreign Exchange (Forex) market this morning.
The Indian Unit opened at 44.0850-09, higher than the previous close of Rs 44.10/11 against the U S Greenback. It later traded between Rs 44.0850/09 in the morning trade.
''Trading in the forex market was absoltely quiet. Except some dollar purchases by the PSUs, movements were limited,'' a senior Forex deaelr.
Forwards were seen receiving till March and movements there too were restricted and not much activity happened in the morning, another Forex dealer said.
