Rs 213 crore being spent on national highways in HP, says Baalu

Shimla, Feb 7 (UNI) Union Minister for Shipping, Road Transport and Highways T R Baalu today said that his ministry had sanctioned 72 development projects and invested Rs 213 crore on development of National Highways in Himachal Pradesh in the last two years.

Besides, Rs 213 crore for developments of NH in the state, 35 state road projects with a total cost of Rs 89.36 crore have also been approved under the Central Road Fund Scheme, he said after laying the foundation stone of a bridge over Chakki Khad in Kangra district of the state.

Mr Baalu said two more road projects, costing about 10.35 crore, have also been approved for Himachal under the Inter-state Connectivity Scheme.

Referring to the four laning of the Shimla to Delhi National Highway under the NH Development Programme, he said it would integrate Himachal with national network of NH.
