PIL seeking UP Assembly polls by Mar 12 filed in Allahabad
Lucknow, Feb 7 (UNI) A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) demanding that Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections take place at the earliest by March 12 was filed before the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court this afternoon.
On behalf of the petitioner Sudarsh Awasthi, advocate Harishankar Jain filed the PIL before the Bench.
The PIL said that after March 12, MLAs would not be entitled for any salary or allowance.
According to Mr Awasthi, the UP government is completing its tenure on March 12.
The hearing of the case would take place on February 9.
