New Delhi, Feb 7 (UNI) Hangers-on in real life may invite a snigger at the drop of a hat, but this time they will certainly leave you splitting your sides with laughter.

With a view to commemorating the golden jubilee year of the Members of Modern School Old Students Association and bringing a flicker of a smile on several lips, MSOSA will stage a play 'Sainya Bhaye Kotwal' here from February 8-11.

'Sainyan Bhaye Kotwal' -- a political satire -- is set in contemporary India. It deals with hangers-on who use power to attain what they want.

Reflecting the situation prevalent in society where at times the undeserving is showered with gold and the deserving with peanuts the play hits the mindset of people.

Though it revolves round such intense issue, the play, being a musical comedy, entertains besides delivering a message, said play director Chittaranjan Tripathy.

Echoing a similar view, the lead actor of the play, Rashmi Vaidya Lingham, said, ''Our aim is to provide entertainment. We want people to come and watch the play and get de-stressed. It is an out and out comedy, promising to leave you rolling in the aisles.'' The play has a huge cast with almost 21 characters and some of them are renowned personalities like East Delhi MP Sandeep Dikshit, actor Pradeep Kukreja and Kuchipudi exponent Rashmi Vaidya Lingham, among others.
