Maoist leader Ajay Kanu shifted to Patna jail

Gaya, Feb 7 (UNI) Mastermind of the Jehanabad jail break Ajay Kanu, the hard core Maoist extremist, was today shifted to Beur central jail in Patna from here.

Official sources said that Kanu was sent to Beur jail in view of threats from extremists who had reportedly hatched conspirary to engineer operations to release the Maoist leader from Gaya central jail where he was lodged after his arrest.

He was escorted to Beur jail this morning under tight security of state police and Special Auxiliary Police(SAP) to foil any attempt of extremists to create trouble.

Earlier he was brought here from Patna where he was quizzed.

Several important informations were extracted from Kanu during his interrogation.

Kanu was arrested from Joan Bigha under Tankuppa police station of Gaya district on Friday last.
