Lucknow, Feb 7 (UNI) A group of lawyers today alleged that jailed don Babloo Srivastava and his aide tried to kill an advocate in the premises of a local court to help a city trader settle scores.

The lawyers raised slogans against the don after the alleged incident.

Trouble started when Babloo appeared before a Gangsters Act court here. A group of lawyers led by Jyotiresh Pandey raised slogans against the don.

However, police intervention at the scene averted any untoward incident.

The lawyers alleged that Babloo was helping a city trader to settle scores against Pandey in a property dispute.

The lawyers lodged a complaint with the Wazir Ganj police station alleging that Babloo's aide Mange Sardar snatched the rifle of a police constable and tried to shoot Pandey. Later, following a request, police provided Pandey with a gun and two constables for his personal security. Pandey had claimed that he faced a life threat from the don. He claimed that he was attacked earlier this month but he esacped.

Incidentally, Pandey is accused in the murder of scribe Paritosh Pandey of a local Hindi daily. Babloo, who is in jail for the past several years, had recently published his autobiograhpy 'Babloo Srivastava Ke Adhure Khwab' (the unfulfilled dreams of Babloo Srivastava).

After the incident, lawyers also blocked traffic near the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court premises for a while.
