Eight places in Anand to get face-lift as tourist centres

Anand, Feb 07 (UNI) Eight places in the district would be getting a face-lift and made tourist attraction spots with Rs 2 crore to be spent by March end of this year.

This was decided at a meeting held at the Circuit House and chaired by Anand district collector DG Jhalavadia of District Tourist Committee today.

For the Kanival sarovar, Rs 52.09 lakhs has been allocated to make it a eco-tourist spot. Vehera Kadi, where Mahi river meets the ocean in the Khambhat, will get Rs 52.91 lakhs as it is a pilgrimage spot while Ashapura mataji mandir at Piplav village will get Rs 12.50 lakhs; Kadkai Mataji mandir at Kodva village too will get Rs 9.06 lakhs.

Bochasan Swaminaryan mandir will get Rs 12.77 lakhs. A pond 'Malav Pond' in Umreth taluka will get Rs 16.85 lakhs, Ramnath Mahadev mandir at Petlad will be given Rs 26.42 lakhs and finally 'Heritage Walk' in Khambhat will get Rs 9.50 lakhs.
