Cauvery Tribunal Award has nothing to do with politics: Cong

New Delhi, Feb 7 (UNI) The Congress today refused to comment on the final award of the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal, stating the award by the statutory body had nothing to do with party politics.

The award, which concerned various states, had to be studied and thereafter a constitutional, statutory procedure had to be followed for its implementation, party spokesman Abishek Singhvi told reporters.

''Protecting the interest of every citizen of India is the responsibility of the state where the person resided,'' he said, replying to questions relating to the quantum of water each state would get under the award.
