AIIMS tangle takes new twist, PR Consultant 'thrown' out of office

New Delhi, Feb 7 (UNI) The newly appointed Public Relations Consultant at the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has filed a complaint with the police for allegedly being restrained by hospital authorities from entering the office premises.

In his complaint at Defence Colony police station in South Delhi, B K Dash, Consultant (Protocol and Public Relations, AIIMS) alleged that he was being prevented from discharging his duty at the instigation of Director P Venugopal.

He also said that he was abused and threatened while trying to enter his office.

Dash, who joined as Consultant, Protocol and Public Relations Officer of AIIMS on February 1 this year on the decision of the Governing Body and the order of the President, AIIMS, said he was restrained by the security guard from entering his office, after being instructed so by Director Venugopal.

On February 2 Dr Raju Singh was appointed Chief Protocol, Public Relations Officer, and asked to perform the same duties and responsibilities and from the same office and with the same staff, said the complaint.

It also added that on February 5 he found the lock of his room broken and his personal belongings scattered, allegedly at the behest of Dr Raju Singh and at the instance of and in connivance with the Director Dr P Venugopal, as part of a conspiracy against him.
