3 'fake naxalites' nabbed in Gadchiroli

Nagpur, Feb 7 (UNI) The police have arrested three 'fake' naxalites and seized two weapons from them in Gadchiroli district in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra.

According to police, Durgayya Kankalu Jadi, Samaya Laxanna Kaveri and Vinod Durgam were arrested from Naligudda village in Sironcha tehsil of Gadchiroli district on Monday.

The trio used to claim to be naxalites and extorted money from villagers, the police said.

However, they were not associated with any naxalite organisation, police added.

The police have seized two guns from them.

Durgam is a resident of Chhattisgarh, police added.
