UP govt grants Rs 3 lakh for Big B's school

Pratapgarh, Feb 6 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh government today announced a grant of Rs 30 lakh for the construction of a girls' inter college in Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan's native Patti village in Pratapgarh district of Uttar Pradesh.

Talking to mediapersons here today, Minister of State for Highter Education Asrey Vishwakarma said the UP government was just trying to facilitate a generous act of the Bachchans.

On January 26, after participating in the early morning 'arti' at the famous Vidhyavasini shrine in Mirzapur, Amitabh had announced opening of an inter college for poor girls at his native village.

The megastar had also announced the foundation of the institution world be laid by former Miss World Aishwarya after her marriage to his son and actor Abhishek.

The occasion was the 51st birthday celebrations of Samajwadi Party (SP) general secretary Amar Singh.
