UGC sanctions ASC for NEHU

Shillong, Feb 6 (UNI) The University Grants Commission (UGC) has sanctioned establishment of an Academic Staff College (ASC) for North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) here with an fund of Rs 50 lakh.

The primary function of the ASC is to conduct refresher courses and orientation programmes for teachers and also training programmes for officers, NEHU public relations officers, Kynphan Sing Nongkynrih said.

He said the ASC will first make its presence felt by conducting a refresher course in commerce and an oreintation programme for teachers in March this year.

UNI
