Statesman car rally on Feb 11

New Delhi, Feb 6 (UNI) The Annual Statesman Vintage&Classic car rally will be held on February 11 in which about 100 cars will participate.

The Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal SP Tyagi will flag off the rally which will start from Statesman House at 0815 hrs down Rajpath, Shanti Path and Moti Bagh to Malibu Town, a press release here said today.

First held in 1964, the rally is at the core of a movement to preserve the motoring heritage of the country. Many old cars have been salvaged from the scrap heap and restored for the participation, the release reads.

Thirty eight trophies will be awarded in the rally. The cars will be evaluated on the basis of their originality, maintenance and performance.

A pre-event inspection and evaluation by the judges will be conducted at Statesman house on February 10.
