RSS should not work as a shield for BJP: Uma

Hardwar, Feb 6: Bharatiya Jan Shakti Party President Uma Bharti has said the BJP was duping both the country and the Rashtriya Swayam Sewak Sangh (RSS).

She along with the acting president of the party, Madan Lal Khurana was addressing reporters at the Hardwar Press Club last evening.

Ms Bharti appealed to the RSS leaders that instead of working as a shield for the BJP, they should work as a shield for the parties which are promoting the RSS concepts of Hindutva and nationalism.

She said Hindutva was the philosophy of the country, Lord Ram was its ideal and roti was its basic need. "We are open for negotiations with any political party which subscribes to this three plank ideology of our party", she said.

Replying to a question if the presence of her party candidates will harm the electoral prospects of the BJP, she said if the BJP was weakened, it would be beneficial for the country.

Mr Madan Lal Khurana told reporters the BJP was no longer a political party but had turned into a private ltd. company.
