Pink City to host Short Films fest soon

Jaipur, Feb 6 (UNI) Jaipur will host the first ever International Film Festival of Short films on Culture from February 11 to 13, in an attempt to revive the almost obsolete documentary culture in the country.

The cultural extravaganza, being organised by Indian Infotainment Media Corporation (IIMC), has received 250 film entries from 33 countries and will screen 100 films at the fest.

Speaking at a press conference here today, Mr Devendra Khandelwal, Director, IIMC and short films, said the jury will comprise renowned film personalities like Basu Chatterjee and G L Bharadwaj apart from experts from other fields like Barkha Dutt, NDTV journalist, Kumudben Joshi, former I&B minister and Jailkhani, DDG Prasar Bharti.

Film makers Manoj Kumar, Madhur Bhandarkar and Aparna Sen would also grace the festival with their presence.

The criteria for selecting the films has been their strong cultural content apart from good techical quality. The idea is to understand the culture of other parts of the world and to showcase Indian culture to the world community.
