Padmapriya tenders apology
Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 6 (UNI) Noted South Indian film actress Padmapriya, who had incurred the wrath of Malayalam dubbing artistes for her alleged adverse remarks on them, today tendered an apology.
Addressing mediapersons here, she said ''I have not made any such adverse remarks against the dubbing artistes and if my words in the TV interview hurt anybody directly or indirectly, I sincerely tender my apologies.'' ''My remarks were never meant to hurt them,'' she said.
The Malayalam Cine Technicians Association (MACTA) Union for Dubbing Artistes yesterday demanded a public apology from star and warned that dubbing artistes would boycott her, if she did not apologise openly. This forced her to hold the press conference.
Clarifying her statement in the interview, Padmapriya said she was only talking about her incompleteness as an actress. ''I would like to dub for my films,'' she said, adding it did not mean that dubbing artistes were not doing their work properly.
Stating that the dubbing artistes were doing their work with perfection, she said ''I feel that film production is a collective work and everybody would try to perform their part well.'' The promising actress in Malayalam, Tamil and Kannada films, had acted with superstars Mammootty, Mohanlal and Suresh Gopi in Malayalam in a very short period.
