Nikkei recoups losses on tech stock rebound

Tokyo, Feb 6: The Nikkei share average rose 0.23 at the start of trade on Tuesday, recouping some of its losses from the previous session as investors bought back recently battered tech shares such as Tokyo Electron Ltd.

The Nikkei was up 69.85 points at 17,414.65 as of 0006 GMT.

The broad TOPIX index was up 0.46 percent at 1,724.25.
