Shimla, Feb 6 (UNI) Mild snow in high altitude areas of Kinnuar, Kullu, Lahaul Spiti districts and rain of Himachal Pradesh have revived coldwave conditions, even as minimum temperatures rose appreciably in the mid and lower hills of the state, the met office said today.

Pin, Lahaul and Spiti Valleys, high mountain peaks and passes in the tribal districts experienced mild snowfall this morning after a day of overcast conditions, plummeting temperatures, it said.

The met office said isolated places in lower areas of Kullu district were lashed by light showers since morning, reviving hopes of rain and snow in the state during the next 24 hrs, while overcast conditions were prevailing in Chamba district.

Overcast conditions were also continuing in mid and lower hills of the state for the second day today and the met office said weak western disturbance was responsible for the continuing dry spell in the state.

Shimla and other adjoining areas remained under a thick layer of clouds since last night, but no rain was reported from anywhere up to 0830 hrs today, the met office said.

The night temperature at Sundernagar and Bhuntar rose appreciably to 10.2 and 8.6 degrees respectively as against 5.7 and 4.3 degree Celsius recorded yesterday due to thick cloud cover, it said.

The met office said Kalpa minimum at Kalpa in Kinnuar district rose by almost two degrees to minus point six as against yesterday's low of minus 2.5 degrees.

The night temperature at state capital remained stable at 5.7 degree Celsius, which was still 2.7 degrees above normal, it added.
