Lockheed martin ties up with FICCI

Bangalore, Feb 6: US aviation major Lockheed Martin today announced establishment of an India Innovation Growth Programme to expand global export opportunities for new Indian technologies.

The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) will be the Indian partner for the New programme which would have a time frame of two years with Lockheed Martin having the IC2(Square) Institute at the University of Texas as administrator of the programme on behalf of the US multinational.

Announcing the programme, Lockheed Martin Senior Vice President for Business Development Robert H Trice told newsmen that an unlimited Indian companies would be allowed to participate in the initial evaluation after which 30 Companies would be selected to particiapte in an Entrepreneurship workshop to be delivered by faculty members from the University of Texas.

In the final phase six indian companies would receive intense business development training. The Indian Innovation Growth Programme would accept applications from bsuiness throughout India and the goal was to prepare Indian companies to launch early stage commercial technologies in the global market place, Dr Trice said.

He said ''We will provide all the funding for the India Innovation Growth Programme and invite Indian technologies, researchers, inventors and entrepreneurs to participate in the programme''.

He said Lockheed Martin was sponsoring the initiative to demonstrte that it intended to be a corporate partner with the government and Industries of India for many years to come in many different ways, he added.
