Kumaraswamy appeals for postponing State bandh on Feb 8

Bangalore, Feb 6 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today appealed for postponement of the Statewide bandh, called by various organisations on February eight in protest against the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal award announced yesterday.

''The details of the Tribunal award would be discussed at the all-party meeting scheduled for tomorrow evening. The future course of action would be decided after getting the opinion of all those who participate. Hence, I request you to postpone the bandh called for Thursday,'' he said in a release here.

The appeal assumes significance as the city gears up to host the prestigious five-day international event, Aero Show 2007, from tomorrow.
