Kumaraswamy appeals for postponing Feb 8 state bandh

Bangalore, Feb 6 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today appealed for postponement of the Statewide bandh, called by various organisations on February 8 in protest against the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal award announced yesterday.

''The details of the Tribunal award would be discussed at the all-party meeting scheduled for tomorrow evening. The future course of action would be decided after getting the opinion of all those who participate. Hence, I request you to postpone the bandh called for Thursday,'' he said in a release here.

The appeal assumes significance as the city gears up to host the prestigious five-day international event, Aero Show 2007, from tomorrow.
