India emerging as most quality manpower country

Jammu, Feb 6 (UNI) India is emerging as the country of most quality manpower in the world.

A top executive of corporate sector, Abbas Ali Mirza today, while delivering a lecture on 'Globalization of Financial Reporting and the Way Forward' n the College of Management, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University said this morning.

''38 per cent of doctors in USA are Indians, 12 per cent scientists in USA are Indians, 36 percent of NASA scientists are Indians. The third richest man in the world is an Indian and not only the Indians are occupying various top positions in Multi-National Corporations and so on,'' he said.

Mr Mirza gave various real life examples stating why Indians should be proud of themselves. Quoting various instances from the global arena, he stressed on the need for high value system amongst the corporate sector and said Indians have strong value system and that is the reason they gain respect wherever they go.

''World history facts also speak in favour of India as the cradle of the human race like invention of number system, zero, establishment of first ever University in Takshila in 700BC, Sanskrit being the most suitable language for computer software,'' he said.

Mr Mirza explained globalization of Financial Reporting and adoption of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) by corporate sector. ''More than 8000 listed companies are using IFRS in more than 100 countries. 200 of the Fortune 500 conglomerates use IFRS,'' he added.

The session ended with a series of questions for the students whereby Ms. Shalika Manhas, student of MBA won the prize.
