Haryana launches job-oriented courses in govt colleges

Chandigarh, Feb 6 (UNI) The Haryana Higher Education Department has started job-oriented education at Government colleges in the state by introducing new courses.

Education Minister Phool Chand Mullana said an amount of Rs two crore had been spent by the department on this ambitious project.

He said a number of courses had been started in the Government colleges affiliated to Kurukshetra University and Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak.

The courses which were being introduced in the government colleges affiliated to Kurukshetra University included Bachelor in Tourism Management, Bachelor in Mass Communication and Journalism, Bachelor in Computer Application, Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management and Bachelor in Information and Management.

He said the new job-oriented courses introduced in Maharishi Dayanand University colleges included Bachelor in Computer Application, PG Diploma in Computer Application, Bachelor in Tourism and Travel Management and Bachelor in Business Management.

Mr Mullana said while the parents had to pay a hefty amount of fee for the education of their wards in private colleges and aided colleges for these courses, these professional courses had been made available in government colleges at a nominal fee.
