Haryana gives rebate on use of solar water heater

Chandigarh, Feb 6 (UNI) With a view to promoting energy conservation in the state, the Haryana government has decided to provide a rebate of Rs 100 per month to users of solar water heaters having 100 liter capacity per day.

Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan, who also holds the charge of the Renewable Energy Resources Department, said the rebate would be given by the Power Department for a period of three years after the installation of the solar water heating system.

Mr Chander Mohan said this rebate would be applicable only to solar water heating systems of Bureau of Indian Standard approved by the Union Ministry of Renewable Energy Resources Department.

He said the maximum rebate would be given to the consumers up to Rs 300 per month on the heating system having capacity of 300 litres per day.
